The project included the execution of necessary asphalt pavement renovations of the Motorway between Gebze and Izmit. The project’s objective was to increase the Motorway’s load capacity. This was primarily achieved by expanding the motorway from a 2x2 lane one to a one with 2x3 lanes. To achieve this expansion, the emergency lane was taken out and converted to a driving lane. Also included in the project were the construction of lay-by area and a lay-by facility. Additionally, the Izmit Bati II/Tupras Interchange Section of the existing 11km long D-100 National Road was expanded from 2 lanes to 2x2 lanes. The total renovation work is 81.20 km (2x.40.60) motorway and 11 km of National Road.
