THE BOOK "HARPUT CITY IN DAWN SLEEP"
Written by historian Necdet Sakaoglu, the book"Harput City in Dawn Sleep"(Şafak Uykusundaki Kent, Harput) was released in April, 2013. In this study the ancient city of Harput is discussed with a new approach and was completed in a total time of 5 years.
It is clear that all Anatolian cities contain richness, favorable for the creation of these literary-historical books. What is critical is, to examine cultural accumulation of settlements with the right point of view and to place them within an overall literal framework.
Bringing together details difficult to be accessed with photos and all visual materials in order to establish a thematic pattern, may become a new, original and perhaps a "reference sample".
It is important for Gulsan to point out the importance of this book, which was studied with the awareness of Culture and Protection. This book having a broad repercussion in the press and public may inspire similar efforts.
In case that other forgotten cities, strike lucky in terms of research-writer interest and the Anatolian Culture regaining its new original sources, it will be possible to become a society bond to its past and then it will be possible to create a healthier future.
