In this project farmers from five different villages has been contacted in Maras, Andirin, to provide 200 beehives and necessary equipment for maintenance. Routine controls by experts have been conducted in order to both prevent farmers’ potential losses and ensure the projects’ success. While providing purchasing guarantees, our mid-term target is to increase both the amount of hives in the area and the number of future farmers.

Beyond this work, two more ambitious projects are on the way, using our project in Maraş as a base and blueprint. First, using improved marketing strategies, a husbandry program of a well-known and efficient breed of goat, the Saanen Goat, is in process. The next and final step is to promote the production of an endemic plant in Maraş called `Sahlep`.
